Crispy Stinky Tofu with Spicy Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 400g of stinky tofu
  • 100g of cornstarch
  • 50ml of vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of chili paste
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 100ml of water
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Deep fryer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Instructions:

  • Press the stinky tofu gently between paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • Cut the stinky tofu into 1-inch cubes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, garlic, chili paste, vinegar, sugar, and water to create a spicy sauce.
  • Coat the tofu cubes evenly with cornstarch.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer over medium heat until bubbly.
  • Carefully place the coated tofu cubes in the oil, frying until golden brown and crispy for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove the tofu from the fryer and let it drain on paper towels.
  • Serve the crispy stinky tofu with the spicy sauce drizzled over the top and garnish with fresh cilantro.
